About this villa
- Not too far away from the city of Mumbai, at the top of a hillock, overlooking the ocean and on the edge of a wildlife sanctuary, lies Sunglade, 4-bedroom home in Kashid with interiors that have been recently refurbished by a leading interior designer.
- This five-acre estate is skirted by a stream from around the back that gurgles during the monsoon season. It is a WADI, dense with hundreds of coconut and mango trees, and also has a few trees bearing sitaphal (custard apple), peru (guava), figs, bananas and lemons. Some seasonal vegetables are grown most of the year and are used in making lip-smacking home-fresh meals.
- Wake up to watch the sunrise over the forest from the small upper terrace early in the morning. Whereas, the sunset over the ocean is a breathtaking sight from the very large terrace during the golden hour. As dusk evolves to night, you can gaze at the vast expanse of stars, satellites and the moon overhead: a real-life planetarium.
- There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and a very large third bedroom on a lower level with antique furniture and floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The fourth bedroom is a large stand-alone room with a sit-out just behind the main house offering lovely views of the greenery and the sea. The bedrooms are surrounded by trees and bougainvillaea flowers that almost intrude into the home itself, especially the lower large bedroom.
- The home also has a well-furnished living-cum-dining room and a large terrace with outdoor cane furniture along with a painted handcart that serves as an outdoor dining table.
- A giant tree canopy nearby shades an eight-ten-seater cane furniture set and overlooks the forest.
- Enjoy a dining experience as you indulge in lip-smacking food prepared with seasonal organic vegetables plucked from the certified organic farm on the premises and locally-sourced produce.
- You can read on the swings, play board games indoors, or take a walk or drive to the three private beaches nearby from one to three kilometres away. Dande Beach (less than a km) is small, quiet and private, and Kashid beach (3 km) and Murud beach (4 km), are busier and offer a number of water sports along with the Nandgaon beach (less than 3 km). There is also the ancient Janjira Fort in the middle of the ocean and the Reserve Forest/ Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary that you can visit for a trek.

Walk to the serene, secluded Dande beach nearby which is private and untouched. Both Kashid and Murud beach are just ten minutes away with a number of water sports to keep you occupied.
You can walk through the Reserve Forest at the back of the house along trails with unique trees and flora. Or head for a trek through pathways around the property.
For a heritage experience, visit the Janjira Fort in the middle of the water with some ancient tombs. The area is old and a little precarious but nevertheless adventurous.
House Rules
Outside food is not allowed in the villa.
Guests are not allowed to access the kitchen except for infants with prior permission.
Guests cannot invite other guests and day visitors during their stay.
Bachelor groups & stag parties are not allowed.
We do not encourage parties and late-night revelry. Loud music is not permitted beyond 10 pm.
Consumption of alcohol is permitted only within limits.
Illegal activities including but not limited to carrying/consuming drugs/narcotics and carrying firearms/weapons are prohibited on the property. Management reserves the right to report any such activities to local authorities.
Smoking within the villa/rooms is prohibited.
The pool is temporarily out of service.
Guests are requested to take care of all personal valuables. Management is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to any items.
As required by law, every guest must carry government-approved photo ID proof, that shows address. We accept only Aadhar Cards, Driving Licenses and Passports.
Inappropriate behaviour or violation of any of the above House Rules will invite a polite refusal to accept a Booking. If already checked in, Management reserves the right to ask guests to leave.
In case of special occasions like wedding and pre wedding ceremonies, milestone celebrations and events, and similar such events that require the parts or entire estate, whether they require elaborate arrangements or not, are at the sole discretion and explicit permission of the management. These need to be informed at the time of booking, and additional venue charges, additional deposits and charges for time efforts and specialised skills needed for prior arrangements and post event cleanup will apply.
